Tudor Serial Number Check — Date Your Watch
Enter your Tudor serial number to estimate its production year. Tudor — Rolex’s sister brand — used sequential numbers until 1984, restarted the sequence, then switched to B and H letter prefixes before going random in 2002. This tool handles every era.
Note: Tudor never published its dating system — these charts were compiled by collectors and are accurate to about ±1–2 years. Serials after ~2002 are random and cannot be dated by number alone.

How to date a Tudor from its serial number
Unlike Omega or Longines, Tudor’s numbering is not one continuous sequence: the original series ran from 1926 to 1984 (up to ~990,000), then restarted near zero, then moved to B-prefix (1990–1998) and H-prefix (1999–2002) serials, and finally to random numbers. Enter your serial above — the tool detects the era automatically. Browse our certified pre-owned watches.
Where to find your Tudor serial number
On Tudors made before ~2010 the serial is engraved between the lugs at 6 o’clock — remove the bracelet end-link to read it, with the reference number between the lugs at 12. On modern pieces it is engraved on the caseback and printed on the warranty card.
Why one number can match two eras
Because the sequence restarted in 1984, numbers below ~330,000 exist twice: serial 200,000 can be a 1958 watch or a 1988 one. The model settles it — a Submariner 79090 is necessarily from the 1990s, an Oyster Prince from the 1950s–60s. When your number is ambiguous, the tool shows both eras.
After 2002: random serials
From roughly 2002, Tudor serials are random and cannot be dated from the number alone. Use the warranty card date, or the model’s launch year as a floor — a Black Bay 58 cannot predate 2018. For a documented appraisal, request a free valuation.

Frequently asked questions
Are Tudor serial charts official?
No — Tudor never published its dating system. The charts used here were compiled by collectors from thousands of observed watches and papers, and are accurate to about ±1–2 years.
My number matches two different years — which is right?
The sequence restarted in 1984, so low numbers exist in two eras. The model and its style settle it; when in doubt, send us photos and we’ll tell you.
Does the serial number prove authenticity?
No. A plausible number is reassuring, but only a full inspection — movement, engravings, finishing — can authenticate a watch. That’s our craft at Heure Miroir.
What is my vintage Tudor worth?
Vintage Submariners and chronographs lead the market. Heure Miroir offers a free valuation of your Tudor within 24 hours, with no obligation.
